A small cove of rounded pebbles where the torrent de Son Fortuny meets the sea, below cliffs of red earth and pine-covered slopes. It is still a little fishermen's shelter: the huts and the slipway for hauling up boats take up a good part of the shore. The water is very clean and there is a bar on the rocks.

We have not found any municipal rule for this cove. Check with the Ajuntament d'Estellencs.

How to get there

By car and on foot
There is no visitor parking by the cove. The one that used to be on private land closed in 2021, and the Ajuntament (town council) restricts car access on the cove road. Leave the car in the village, for example in the free els Rentadors car park, and walk down. In summer the village fills up too. From the centre of Estellencs, on the Ma-10, you head down the camí de la Mar, a narrow, winding tarmac road of 1.5 km that ends next to the cove. The most practical option is to walk it: about 20 to 25 minutes downhill. The way back is uphill all the way, so allow a bit more time.
By bus
TIB line 202 (Palma, Esporles, Banyalbufar, Estellencs) stops in the village. From the stop it is about 1.5 km downhill on foot to the cove.

It is small and in high summer, especially at weekends, it fills up. Having to walk in keeps numbers down, and the rest of the year it is quiet.

Tips and what to bring

  • Park in the village and walk down. The cove road is narrow, car access is restricted and there is nowhere to leave the car at the bottom.
  • Water shoes. The shore is rounded pebbles and you get into the water over stone.
  • Mask and snorkel. The water is very clean and the sides of the cove are rocky.
  • Save some energy for the climb. The way back to the village is 1.5 km uphill. Bring water.
  • Check the wind before you go. The cove opens to the northwest: with a tramuntana (the north wind) or a mestral (northwest wind) the waves roll in.

The cove faces northwest, so in the afternoon the sun goes down over the sea. The bar’s terrace is a good spot to watch the sunset.

Can you drive down to Cala d'Estellencs?
