Two sandy beaches split by a rocky point
At the head of the same cove in Cales de Mallorca there are two fine-sand beaches: es Domingos Gran and es Domingos Petit. A rocky point separates them, which you can cross on foot or swim round. The water is turquoise and shallow, between rock walls with pines and scrub, and the resort's hotels and houses are all around.

- Dogs: not allowed
- Manacor does not allow dogs on its urban beaches. Only guide dogs are allowed.
How to get there
- By car and on foot
- There is a tarmac car park beside es Domingos Gran, with spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility. In July and August it is full by mid-morning; then you have to find a spot in the resort's streets. Some nearby car parks are for hotel guests only. From Manacor or Felanitx, follow the signs for Cales de Mallorca and, inside the resort, the turn-off for Cala Domingos. Es Domingos Gran has a car park next to the beach and a ramp down to the sand. Es Domingos Petit also has a ramp down, or you can reach it from the Gran by crossing the rocky point.
- By bus
- There are bus stops named Cala Domingos in the Cales de Mallorca resort, a few minutes' walk away. Check the TIB website to see which line and timetable are running this year.
- By boat
- You can anchor in the cove. In season there is a buoyed-off area for kayaks, paddleboards and sailing.

It is the beach for the hotels and apartments of Cales de Mallorca. In July and August it fills up, especially es Domingos Gran. The Petit is usually a bit quieter.
Tips and what to bring
- Pick your beach. Es Domingos Gran has more facilities and more people; es Domingos Petit, next door, is usually a bit quieter.
- Get there early in summer. The beach car park is full by mid-morning.
- Bring or rent a parasol. There are no trees over the sand.
- Mask and snorkel. The best bits are by the rocky point between the two beaches.
- Check the wind. The cove opens to the southeast and with a levante the waves roll in.
Es Domingos Gran faces southeast and the Petit almost due east. In the morning the sun shines straight into both and the water looks at its most turquoise.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between es Domingos Gran and es Domingos Petit?
They are two sandy beaches in the same cove, separated by a rocky point. The Gran is the larger one and has more facilities. The Petit is next door and you reach it by its own ramp or by crossing the rocks.
Where can you park?
In the car park next to es Domingos Gran or in the streets of Cales de Mallorca. Respect the hotel car parks marked as private.
Is there a lifeguard?
Yes, in season. In 2026 the Ajuntament de Manacor (town council) classed es Domingos Gran as a high-risk beach and added an extra lifeguard.
