What you’ll find
- Sand
- Fine white sand, about 145 × 50 m of beach.
- Facilities
- Beach bar, lifeguard, toilets, sunloungers.
- Little shade
- The pine woods reach the sand at the sides, but there's no shade in the middle of the beach.
- Snorkelling: good
- The rocks on both sides of the inlet have more life than the middle, which is sandy.
- Good for kids
- A short, flat walk in, usually calm water and a lifeguard in season. It gets very busy in summer.
- Dogs: not allowed
- The park doesn't allow dogs on the beaches. On the paths they must be kept on a lead.
How to get there
- By car and on foot
- The park only allows parking in its two car parks, s'Amarador and ses Fonts de n'Alis: 394 car spaces, 17 adapted spaces and 51 for motorbikes. In summer they're run by a contractor and you have to pay; out of season they're free. There are no-parking signs and yellow lines along the access roads. Since 2025, sensors have been monitoring how full the car parks are. From the s'Amarador car park (Ca sa Muda), a flat path runs down through the pine trees to the beach, about 500 m away. You get there via the road from Santanyí to Cala Figuera and the camí del Cap de sa Paret. The other way in is the ses Fonts de n'Alis car park, next to the information centre, on the Cala Mondragó road.
- By bus
- TIB line 521 (Cala d'Or, Portopetro, Cala Mondragó) stops next to ses Fonts de n'Alis. It's a seasonal line: in 2025 it ran from 25 April to 31 October.

In July and August the car parks are full by mid-morning and the sand gets very crowded. Go early or late in the afternoon.
Tips and what to bring
- Get there early in summer. Both car parks are full by mid-morning and you can’t leave your car anywhere else.
- Parasol or hat. The pine woods are at the sides; in the middle of the sand the sun beats down.
- Walk to the other beach. A short coastal path links s’Amarador with ses Fonts de n’Alis and passes s’Estany de ses Mongetes.
- Leave the dog and the drone at home. Dogs aren’t allowed on the park’s beaches and drones are banned.
- Take your rubbish home. You’re in a natural park; whatever you bring goes back with you.
In the morning the sun shines straight in, because the inlet opens to the east. With llevant (the east wind) the water gets choppier; with tramuntana (the north wind) or ponent (the west wind) it’s usually calm.

Where do I park for Cala Mondragó?
Only in the park's two car parks: s'Amarador (Ca sa Muda) and ses Fonts de n'Alis. In summer you pay and out of season they're free. Parking along the access roads is prohibited.
How long is the walk from the car park?
About 10 minutes on a flat path through the pine trees, from either s'Amarador or ses Fonts de n'Alis.
Does it get very busy?
In July and August, yes. The car parks fill up early. In May, June and September, or first thing and late in the day, it's much quieter.
Is it good for children?
Yes. The walk in is short and flat, the water is usually calm and in season there's a lifeguard, toilets and a beach bar.
Can I bring my dog?
Not on the beaches. On the park's paths dogs must be kept on a lead.
Can I fly a drone?
No. Drones are banned in the natural park, as are lighting fires and leaving the marked paths.
Can I get there by bus?
In season, on TIB line 521 from Cala d'Or and Portopetro. It stops at ses Fonts de n'Alis, a few minutes' walk from s'Amarador.
