Sand and pines ten minutes from Cala Rajada harbour
A small cove of fine sand tucked between rocks and pine woods, below the gardens of sa Torre Cega and the house Juan March built on the hill in 1911. It sits halfway along the coastal walk that links Cala Rajada harbour with the Capdepera lighthouse, and has a kiosk that has been open since 1971.

- The pine woods surround the cove, but there is hardly any natural shade on the sand.

- Very clear water and rocks on both sides of the cove, with posidonia seagrass further out.

- Sheltered water and a gentle slope in, with a kiosk right there. In summer there is little space on the sand.
- Dogs: no specific rule
- We have not found a specific rule for this cove. Check the Ajuntament de Capdepera (town council) bylaw before bringing a dog.
How to get there
- By car and on foot
- There are some free spaces in the surrounding streets, but not many, and in summer they go early. The most practical option is to leave the car in Cala Rajada and walk along the promenade from the harbour. From Cala Rajada harbour a coastal walk heads east, reaching the cove in about 10 minutes and carrying on to the Capdepera lighthouse. By car, follow the lighthouse road and turn down Carrer Cala Gat. The last bit down to the sand is a short flight of steps.
- By bus
- TIB buses run to Cala Rajada (among others, line 411 from Manacor and the 411e express from Palma from April to October). From the stop in the centre it is around 1 km on foot to the cove.
- By boat
- It is a stone's throw from Cala Rajada harbour. Boats usually anchor off the cove when the sea is calm.

It is small and right next to the town, so in July and August the sand fills with towels and parasols from mid-morning.
Tips and what to bring
- Walk from the harbour. The coastal path to the cove is short and pretty, and you save yourself hunting for a parking space.
- Get there early in summer. The sand is small and by mid-morning it is hard to find a spot.
- Mask and snorkel. The rocks on both sides have very clear water and it is worth swimming out.
- Carry on to the lighthouse. The same path continues to the Capdepera lighthouse, the easternmost point of Mallorca.
The cove faces south and southeast, so it gets full sun for much of the day. With a tramuntana (the north wind) it is usually calm; with a levante (east wind) or migjorn (south wind) some swell comes in.
