Felanitx's biggest beach, right by Portocolom
A wide cove open to the east, a kilometre from the centre of Portocolom, with a white sandy beach about 150 metres long. The water is clear and shallow, between low cliffs with pine trees, houses and hotels. It has a Blue Flag, a lifeguard and full facilities.

How to get there
- By car and on foot
- The Balearic government says there's free parking very close to the beach. OpenStreetMap shows a free dirt parking area about 300 metres to the west, and there are spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility. Some car parks in the area are for hotel and restaurant customers only. From Portocolom, follow the signs for Cala Marçal; the beach is just over a kilometre from the centre. The housing estate runs right down to the sand, and you get onto the beach via a ramp and a wooden boardwalk. From Felanitx it's about 15 km by road.

- OpenStreetMap shows a bus stop called Cala Marçal about 150 metres from the beach. Check the TIB website to see which line stops there and this year's timetable.
- By boat
- It has an anchoring area for boats, according to Visit Felanitx.

It's the beach for the hotels and apartments in the south of Portocolom and a favourite with families. In July and August it fills up.
Tips and what to bring
- Get there early in summer. It’s the beach for the hotels in the south of Portocolom and it’s full by mid-morning.
- Bring or hire a parasol. There are no trees on the sand.
- A good choice with children. The water is shallow and calm, and there’s a lifeguard and a playground.
- Mask and snorkel. The best bits are by the rocks on either side.
- Walk along the coast. To the south you’ll find Cala Brafi and, further on, Cala Sa Nau and Cala Mitjana.
The cove opens to the east, so the morning sun comes straight in. With llevant (the east wind) the swell rolls in; with a westerly it’s usually calm.
