The great sweep of sand on the bay of Alcúdia, running from Port d'Alcúdia towards Platja de Muro. It's a resort beach, with hotels, a promenade and every facility, white sand and calm, shallow water for many metres. In 2026 it has a Blue Flag and an accessible bathing point with accessibility certification.

What you’ll find

- Fine white sand, sloping very gently, about 3400 × 80 m of beach.

- On some stretches there are pines and palm trees behind the sand. There's no shade by the water, but parasols are for hire.
- Snorkelling: limited
- A sandy bottom along almost the whole beach, with no rocks near the shore.

- The water is shallow for many metres and usually calm. There's a lifeguard, toilets, showers and play areas on the sand.
- Dogs: not allowed
- The signs on the beach ban dogs. Alcúdia has a dog area at Alcanada, at Punta des Far; check with the Ajuntament (town council) first.
How to get there
- By car and on foot
- OpenStreetMap shows several free surface car parks between the beach and the carretera d'Artà, next to the Entre-mar-i-estany stop, on the northern stretch. In July and August they fill up by mid-morning. Since 15 June 2026, about 2,000 on-street spaces in the town centre, the Port and the beach area have been a green zone for residents only, with €200 fines. On the Port promenade there's paid blue-zone parking. You step onto the sand straight from the promenade and from the streets that run down from the carretera d'Artà (Ma-12), between Port d'Alcúdia and the Ciutat Blanca area. There are wooden boardwalks over the sand. The accessible bathing point is next to the lifeguard station, reached from carrer de Saturn, with three reserved parking spaces and a route with tactile paving.
- By bus
- TIB line 324 (Can Picafort - Alcúdia) runs the whole length of the beach along the carretera d'Artà, with stops at Ciutat Blanca, Pla del Pinar, Entre-mar-i-estany and Port d'Alcúdia. From 27 March to 31 October 2026 it runs every 12 or 13 minutes, from early morning until midnight.

It's one of the busiest beaches in the north of Mallorca. In July and August it fills up from mid-morning. First thing, and in spring or autumn, there's much more room.
Tips and what to bring
- Take the bus if you can. Line 324 runs every 12 or 13 minutes along the carretera d’Artà and stops a few steps from the sand.
- Check the signs before you park. Since June 2026 many on-street spaces are for residents only, and the fine is €200.
- Head away from the Port. The beach is very long: the further south you go, the more room there usually is.
- Bring or hire a parasol. There’s no shade by the water.
- Leave the dog at home. Dogs aren’t allowed on this beach; the dog area is at Alcanada.
The beach faces south-east, towards the middle of the bay, so the sun rises over the sea. With a westerly or northerly wind the water is flat; with the llevant (the east wind) or the xaloc (the south-east wind), some waves come in.
