The quiet stretch of Port de Pollença
The southern stretch of Port de Pollença beach, along passeig d'Alemanya, between the Tamarells area and the breakwater that separates it from Can Cullerassa. It's a strip of replenished sand, with pines by the promenade and the Serra de Tramuntana opposite, more residential and quieter than the stretch in the centre. It has a signposted area for dogs.

What you’ll find
- Sand
- Fairly coarse sand, brought in during replenishment works, with posidonia remains at the water's edge.
- Facilities
- Beach bar, toilets, sunloungers.
- Little shade
- There are pines between the sand and the promenade, but there's hardly any shade on the sand itself.
- Snorkelling: limited
- Sandy seabed and posidonia meadows, with no rocks near the shore.
- Good for kids
- The water is shallow for many metres and there are playgrounds by the promenade. We haven't been able to confirm that this stretch has its own lifeguard.
- Dogs: allowed
- There's a signposted area for dogs. In 2020 and in December 2023 the Ajuntament cordoned it off after poison was found, so make sure your dog doesn't eat anything off the ground.
How to get there
- By car and on foot
- According to the Ajuntament (town council), it's easy to park around the beach, and free. OpenStreetMap also marks a car park by the Ma-2220, about 5 minutes' walk from the sand. You get there on the Ma-2220, the road between Port de Pollença and Alcúdia, and then along passeig d'Alemanya, which runs right beside the sand. From the centre of the Port there's a seafront walk.
- By bus
- The Llenaire 1 and 2 stops, on the Ma-2220, are about 400 metres from the sand. TIB lines such as the 301 from Palma and the 334 between Alcúdia and Formentor stop there.

It's a more residential area than the centre of the Port and there are usually fewer people. In July and August it gets livelier, especially near the bars and hotels.
Tips and what to bring
- Go early or late in the afternoon. At midday the sand is in full sun and the pines only give shade by the promenade.
- If you bring a dog, use the signposted area and don’t let it eat anything off the ground.
- Bring water shoes if posidonia bothers you. Dead leaves tend to pile up at the water’s edge.
- Combine it with a walk. You can stroll along the seafront to the centre of Port de Pollença.
- Check the wind before you go. With a levant wind this part of the bay is windsurfing and kitesurfing territory, and swimming is choppier.
The beach faces east, towards the inner bay of Pollença, so the sun rises over the sea. With a tramuntana (north) or mestral (north-west) wind it’s usually calm; with a levant (east), xaloc (south-east) or migjorn (south) wind the waves come in.

Where exactly is Llenaire?
